Samuel
F. B. Morse (1791-1872) was an accomplished artist
prior to inventing the telegraph and the Morse
code. He painted this portrait of Governor Robert
Young Hayne (1832-34). Hayne was a prominent Charleston
businessman who also served as mayor of the city
and is known for the Hayne-Webster debates as
South Carolina's Senator.

Craig Banquet Table and Chairs
Designed
and made in 2001 by Columbia cabinetmaker Michael
Craig, this handsome mahogany table extends over
20 feet. Supported by birdcage pedestals, the
table accommodates twenty-two deerfoot armchairs.
